A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF MATTHEW 24:14 “AND THIS GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM WILL BE PREACHED IN THE WHOLE WORLD AS A TESTIMONY TO ALL NATIONS.”

There is not a day that goes by that we mustn’t take a moment to celebrate Jesus for His intentionality, discipline, and consistency in bringing us the Good News of the Kingdom of God. Had He given up on His assignment to save the world from sin, we all would have already perished. Jesus must also be celebrated because He is the Prophet of all prophets. It’s amazing to see all the things He prophesied almost 2,000 years ago are happening right before our eyes, step by step. One of the things He prophesied, found in Matthew 24:14, “This gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” And just in case you are not aware, this is happening as we speak.

I believe that everyone who has walked and is now walking this earth will have the opportunity to hear about Jesus, even if it is just once in a lifetime. When it’s all said and done, and when standing before the Lord on judgment day, no one would be able to deny that Jesus is Lord because every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that He is (Philippians 2:10-11).

I feel like our lives are like a movie being recorded with many snapshots, because God’s camera is on us 24 hours each day.

We live in a world today where many people like to filter their photos to post on social media, trying to live up to others’ expectations of themselves. They try to hide their true beauty, personality, reality, and flaws from the world’s camera for fear of rejection. The truth is, God’s camera is the most important one in the world, and no one can escape from it. That even includes when we are exposed to the gospel of the Kingdom of God and how we respond to the truth.

God wants everyone to have at least one person, if not many, to proclaim His word to them because Jesus’ prophecy must come to pass. Have you ever been in this position, or have you ever seen someone in this position where, before they accepted Christ as their Savior, they wanted nothing to do with Him? They don’t want to hear about God; in fact, just the mention of the name of Jesus seems to annoy them because they know they are living in sin. Yet no matter how much they try to avoid the gospel, there always seems to be someone out of the blue who will start speaking to them about Jesus. It is important to know that these moments are not random. These moments are orchestrated by God, who does it out of love, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). And God can use anyone to bring about these moments. He can use a child, a pastor, a friend/co-worker, a family member, a stranger, even a beggar down the street, whom we might think has no business talking about Jesus due to his condition. And God can even use someone who has an intellectual disability to bring you His word unexpectedly. Many times, people are so quick to dismiss those who bring them the word of God because they want nothing to do with it, and the people God is using to deliver it. The interesting thing is that those people may not even be real. They can be angels appearing as men (Genesis 18:1-3, Genesis 19:1-3, and Hebrews 13:2). Therefore, they missed many beautiful and timely heavenly encounters, and everything is being recorded. They do not know that the many times they’ve rejected the gospel of truth or that one time they’ve accepted it, all will serve either as a testimony in their lives or as a curse for judgment day.

Also, have you noticed that all the great heroes of the faith who have given their all to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God, when it’s time for them to be with the Lord, someone else always picks up right where they left off?  Do you think this is random?  Allow me to remind you that there is One who always makes sure that His Word remains fresh in men’s ears. He will even make certain the incoming runner is already in the making, even before the former runner exits. Why? Because His commands must come to fruition. And at times, there is not even a relation between the former runner and the incoming runner. It could be someone coming out of the woodwork who doesn’t even smell the part, not to mention look the part. Yet, God will make certain that the baton is passed down to the incoming runner anyway to continue the race. And it is all because Jesus said: “This gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14

The good news is, we are heading towards the end. Besides, who can contend with what Jesus had said?

Why do you think the good news of the Kingdom of God that Jesus came and died for has become even more popular throughout the years? Although the enemy tries all he can to create confusion by using his agents who are against it, yet this cannot cause anyone to deny the fact that God is moving mightily concerning His Kingdom’s message, and no one can stop Him.

For example, when we consider Luke 21:16-17, where Jesus was talking to the disciples about some of the signs of the end times. Jesus said to them: “You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, sisters, relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death. Everyone will hate you because of Me.” Now, how many of us can agree that this has become a thing nowadays? If it’s not your friend/best friend or a family member that betrays you, it will be the coworker or the stranger, and they are ready to crucify you. This is very common now.

Therefore, if we claim that Jesus is coming back, and we’re not paying attention to what is happening around us based on what Jesus said, and if we are not attentive enough to trace the move of God on earth, then we have effortlessly become like the crowd Jesus rebuked in Luke 12: 54-56 when He said: “When you see a cloud rising in the West, immediately you say it’s going to rain, and it does. And when the South wind blows, you say, it’s going to be hot, and it is. Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the Earth in the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?”

So, let us take heed and stay at our Master’s feet so that He can send us to do His command, which cannot be revoked.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).
