THE ALL-TIME SATAN’S TRICKS THAT ALL CHRISTIANS SHOULD KNOW

There are countless treasures in being in God’s presence. In His presence, there are treasures that you cannot find anywhere else. They are simply priceless. I will focus on one of the treasures we get when we are in the presence of God. Once you start spending time with God consistently, one of the things you will get is “A word from God.” It is essential to say that a word from God is not like a word you get from a best friend, family member, coworker, boss, or even your pastor. God’s word is a life-changing, curse-breaking, and setting-free word. For example, when you are dealing with a situation and decide to turn it over to God, as you seek God, you’ll eventually get a revelation from Him about it. You may have to put in some work to participate in your victory, but rest assured, you will be liberated from the situation. It is also important to remember that when Jesus was on earth, everyone who went to Him for help left His presence satisfied and relieved from their predicament. The Good News of the Kingdom of God is called good for a reason. The moment we humble ourselves and stay in His presence long enough to seek His face, God will change everything in our favor. God may ask certain things of us (habits that we need to change) before we get the blessings, and God Himself will see us through making those changes so He can bless us in return.

Your circumstances may seem chaotic or impossible until God speaks. And the moment God speaks into your situation, a whole other battle begins, and it will have everything to do with the word God has spoken to you. For instance, when the word of God comes to you, most likely that word won’t make any sense to you because it will be just the opposite of what you are going through. That word now becomes a promise, and you must remember that it will not be fulfilled overnight.

Once you get a word from God, there are a few things you need to expect.

First, expect that promise to make you fearful, but do not let it overwhelm you. When God gives you a word, it will always be beyond your ability to comprehend it. It will be nothing like what you are going through. For example, if you struggle with infertility in your marriage, God’s word may come to you as you will give birth to six children.  So, you’ll need to let your faith kick in by believing, cherishing (hiding) that word in your heart.

Another important thing to be on the lookout for once you receive the word from God is the way the enemy will come against that word that was given to you. The enemy of your soul will specifically come against that word in any way, shape, or form, and he will come when you least expect him. However, once you know what to expect, you’ll be able to see his tricks from afar. It’s one thing when you know who you are dealing with, and it’s another thing when you don’t know who you are dealing with. The good thing is God didn’t leave us in the dark concerning who our adversary is. We may choose not to take His advice to heart, but we do know that the devil is cunning, and he is a liar. We also know that we need to “be sober and vigilant, because our adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

Having said that, the next thing to look for is the sets of questions and thoughts that you will encounter as the word given to you is being fulfilled. Please understand that these questions will come to test your faith in God. Therefore, the enemy is not really after you but after your faith in God’s word to you, even if he thinks he must destroy you to prevent the word from being fulfilled, which will never happen. These questions can be played on repeat in your mind. However, the enemy can also use friends, family members, coworkers, mockers, circumstances, or even your setbacks to get to you; he will use anything or anyone. Satan’s deceptive way to contradict what God said to you would come in questions like these: “Did God really say to do this? Do you remember the last time you tried it, or the last time somebody else you know tried it, and they failed? What don’t you try to do that other thing instead? I think that another thing/place/person would be better for you, don’t you think so? Do you think you are good enough for this? I don’t think you have what it takes! Has anyone in your family tried it before? Don’t you think you are doing a little too much?  And the list goes on…”

During all this negativity that the devil will try to throw at you daily, you still have to know what determines your victory and what doesn’t. Your victory is not about what you can say back to the people he is using to get to you, and it is not so much about what you can do physically. The enemy will send people from left, right, and center to provoke you to forfeit your destiny. And it is not about what you can say to them, but it is all about what you believe in your mind and heart. You see, once you have your mind set up and stand your ground on the spiritual aspects of things, the enemy will grow weary, but you won’t. Let me give you an example:

Satan may send people to you specifically to try to destroy your confidence in God’s word. These people may come in the form of a friend you thought would have your back, but they’ll be used to try to destroy your confidence or get you to quit what God said. Another trick from the enemy, and I think this is one of his favorites, is to present people in your life who will subtly try to keep you busy with their own agenda, and this can go for years before you can even realize it, just to keep you stagnant in life and from being committed to God and the things God told you to do. And when this happens, especially after many years, you don’t have to be angry at them, give them a piece of your mind, or cuss them out to show how determined you are; that’s not the way to go about it because you can easily get out of alignment with God when you respond this way. What you must remember is Isaiah 30:15, which says, “In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.” After all, the battle is not yours. Therefore, instead of reacting or even overreacting, keep your cool and allow people to see your bold move for God. You move boldly because of who and what you believe. When God said to do something, you don’t have to be upset or try to prove to others that you are qualified to do it, etc. All of that is unnecessary, my friend. All you have to do is get up every blessed morning and go about your business with the intention of obeying the One in charge of your life, in the best way that you can, and the rest is history. You see, the only One we should really seek to please is God. And once God is pleased, everything else is secondary. That’s why we don’t need a word from family members, friends, doctors, pastors, or prophets; all we need is a word from God. Let what others say to you be a confirmation to you instead, if that’s what the Lord told you. And if God has not said anything to you about it yet, then you personally need to go to God to see what He says about it.

Once you are sure you get a word from God, no one can oppose that word. That doesn’t mean you won’t be under attack. The truth is, you will be attacked because of the word, and the bigger the promise, the greater/stronger the opposition.  People who barely know you will hate you, talk about you, etc. However, fret not because God is with you, and all of these should be confirmation to you that God has spoken.

So, your victory is not predicated on being rude to others or how much you can keep up with the naysayers, but it is based on standing your ground on what God told you, no matter what. If God told you to build something, then all your actions, thoughts, and words coming out of your mouth should lead you toward that thing. All distractions must be pushed aside, even if that means saying goodbye to certain things, people, and places. I won’t pretend that this is an easy thing to do, but it must be done because Satan will use anyone he can to try to get you; so, vigilance/discernment is essential here. You can stand your ground without being mean to others. Standing your ground is an act of faith, knowing what you will and will not tolerate for the sake of your calling, which means that you are anointed enough to stand flat-footed on God’s word while maintaining your God-given inner peace that no one has the power to take away from you anyway.

So, Rise and Shine and Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful!
