A DIVINE ESCAPE FROM RAPE AND/OR DEATH TESTIMONY!

When the Bible says in Ephesians 6:12 that “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” I am learning little by little by the grace of God what this verse means. I remember being in a miserably toxic relationship, and at that time, God had just exposed me to the revelation of His kingdom, though I had been in church for a long time. And just as Jesus said in Matthew 13:19, that once the kingdom message is preached to someone, Satan himself comes to snatch it away, so he came to snatch it away from my heart. I wasn’t fully aware of the spiritual battles going on in God’s kingdom at that time. One day, I was in an argument with my partner because I had to go to work with little to no gas in the car and had no money. However, my partner had the money to put gas in the car, and he didn’t. On my way home, I was driving the car, worrying because I was afraid that the car wouldn’t make it home. And truth be told, the car stopped in the middle of a busy street during rush hour, 15- 20 minutes away from home, driving distance. I remember being on the phone with him, and we were arguing. I was so upset at him because he wasn’t even around to help me. I sat in the car trying to think of what to do. Many cars were flying by on a busy street, and my car started causing traffic because it was during rush hour. I was afraid that I could get hit by another car, though my emergency lights were on. Therefore, I decided to leave the car on the street and walk across the street to a plaza where there was a local store. I checked the price for the gas container, but couldn’t afford it, let alone buy the gas. And I walked up front and asked where the closest gas station was in the area, and none was close enough. Then came a man who worked there, so I thought, and he offered to help me. He was an older man, apparently in his mid-40s or 50s, and he said he could help me get some gas, so I thought he was an angel sent from heaven. When he stepped out, he told me to leave my car there and come with him to get the gas can from his house first. I sensed a little hesitation, but I disregarded it because I was tired after a long day of work, and wanted the problem fixed so I could finally go home. Therefore, I went with him in his car. I don’t quite remember what he was talking about, but I recalled him mentioning that his wife was home and he would go home to get the container from her to get the gas, which I now know was all a lie. He was driving and talking, keeping me from realizing where he was heading. However, it dawned on me and I looked around in his car, and all I could see was beer and the cigarettes he smoked. It was then that I realized he was taking me to a place where there are fewer cars on the road and mostly trees. By the time I realized that I was in trouble, I was already paralyzed by fear. I started calling on the name of the Lord with all my heart. I kept saying in my heart, “Lord, please save me!” I was looking at the ground from the car window, and ideas started to come to my mind. I wanted to open the door quickly and jump out of the car, which would have caused me to either hurt myself, break my bones, or even die. Meanwhile, he kept saying “we are almost there,” then I thought maybe I should just scream for help, but then there was nobody around, and so I kept calling Jesus. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt a strength from above come upon me. I know it was all God and His power working because I knew that my strength and everything else in me had already succumbed to fear. And when the power of the Lord came upon me, I looked at that man in his eyes and, sternly with such a divine authority, I said, “I command you to stop the car now.” Then I could feel the car come to an abrupt stop immediately. I know this may sound weird to you; it looked weird to me, too. However, when I looked at him, it wasn’t I who looked at him and said what I said; it was Jesus who did it, and he couldn’t resist Him. So, I quickly got out of his car. I was still panicky and started running as fast as I could. I did not know where I was and how to get to the major roads. My phone had no signal, but I still tried to call my partner to explain what happened.  The call kept dropping because of the area I was in, but I kept the phone to my ear, pretending someone was on the phone with me. As I continued to run, I kept thanking God and asking Him to continue covering and showing me the way out. When I looked back where I left the man, I saw that he remained in his car for a while, as if he were immobile. He was looking in my direction, but couldn’t move.

Then, a little while after, I saw he started driving, but he went in the opposite direction. I was walking very fast, and the Lord was with me every step of the way. It took me about an hour to finally see a major road that I was familiar with. Then, it took me another 30 minutes or so to finally see my car on the road.  I went in my car to catch my breath and locked all the doors as I waited for my partner to bring me gas. I sat there and pondered what could have, should have, and would have happened to me if it had not been for the Lord, who is always on my side and my ever-present help in time of trouble. Only God knows what this man could have done to me.

The lesson I’ve learned from my mistakes is that I should have called on God when the car stopped on the road. The same God who delivered me from this man’s car is the same God who would have shown me what to do when the car had stopped in the middle of the road.

God needs to be our first line of defense, not second or third! But I’m forever grateful to Him that He still stepped in and rescued me from this trauma that I could have experienced, and He even saved me from death because there is no telling what this man could have done to me in this crazy world that we live in these days.

It’s not that Satan doesn’t form the weapons against God’s children, but God promises that they will not prosper. (Isaiah 54:17)

To God be all the glory, Amen! His name shall forever be praised in my life.

There is a situation where God delivers you from that you cannot help but testify about His goodness, faithfulness, protection, and love. Hallelujah, Amen. I share my testimonies online because I refuse to let the rocks cry out for me. God has been too good to me and has delivered me from too much to remain silent. Therefore, I will make some noise and reveal God’s power and what He can do by sharing my testimonies. To Him be all honor and glory. Amen!

I just want to tell someone who is reading this that there is no situation where you may find yourself that the Lord’s hand is too short to deliver you from it. Nothing is too hard for the Lord. All you have to do is call on the Name of the Lord right where you are, even in the middle of the fire. “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
