GOD STILL PERFORMS MIRACLES

Some believe that God no longer operates the way He used to, as described in the Bible. Others believe that the people in the Bible that God used were just a specific elite group of spiritually flawless people, and now that He can’t find such people, He has stopped performing miracles, at least not how He used to.

I don’t believe that God has run out of ideas, authority, and strength. I believe that God still performs miracles, and He still uses imperfect people like those in the Bible. I don’t believe God is the problem, but we are. I believe it is all about Him finding willing participants and available vessels.

While the enemy has done all he could to make me believe that God’s love, strength, and power have ceased, I cannot dare deny the things God has granted me the favor to witness here on this earth. One of the things that He allowed me to see was the life of an imperfect woman who walked with Him, and her life impacted mine significantly. Her name was Yvanna, and she was my aunt. I have witnessed God use this woman in many incredible ways, and at a very young age, I was able to make the difference between her God and the god of the rest of the family. Her God is the one who speaks, hears, heals, and moves mountains.

This has helped shape my faith in my own walk with God. I will never forget the day when God told me many years ago that there is a difference between when I think He’s with me versus when He is with me because when God is with someone, things cannot remain the same. My aunt passed away six to seven years ago, and she had experienced a similar situation as King Hezekiah in the Bible. God told her that she was about to die, and she was in Haiti at that time. She asked God to extend her lifetime because she wanted to come to the US to spend some time with some of her children. God granted her request, and many years later, God told her again that the time had come. One day, as I was talking to her, she told me that she was about to die. She died a few years after she told me. I remember when we were talking on the phone about her death, she told me not to tell her children because she didn’t want them to worry about it. Therefore, to honor her request, I kept the secret in the family until after her death at age 89.

This woman was a servant of the Most High God. Her assignment was to go to people’s homes and pray with them and set the captives free.

For instance, when someone is pregnant, she doesn’t need an ultrasound to tell the gender of the baby and how many of them are in the mother’s womb. At times, she knew about their pregnancy even before they knew about it because God would reveal these things to her on her way to their homes. One time, while she was still in Haiti, God told her to relocate to a different city, and she didn’t really want to move out from her current place. So, she reluctantly moved to the new location, and after she moved there, she told me that people would come to her house and thank her because ever since she moved there, no more stillbirths have been reported in the neighborhood. That’s when she realized that God’s presence covered the whole

neighborhood through her, which was part of her assignment.

This woman was diagnosed with breast cancer in her 30s, and she prayed to God for healing, and God healed her. She died of old age and cancer free. This woman also had three malignant grape-sized tumors developing in her private parts. I remember her testifying to me that she cried out to the Lord, and He heard her cry, healed her, and there were no more signs of tumors detected in her body after that time. My aunt used to come to the house, and whenever she showed up, I was excited because I wanted her to tell me all about her testimonies. I was about nine years old then, and every time she came, it was like story time for me. We would talk for hours even though there was a huge age gap between us; however, I’ve discovered that God’s word knows no limits and no differences.

I remember one day she told me that she and her prayer partner were invited by a husband to pray for his sick wife. They had planned to get there very early in the morning. However, her prayer partner wasn’t feeling well. My aunt told me that she had to go alone to pray for the couple, and on her way to the house, God told her that the wife is not going to recover from the sickness because her time has come, and the husband will remarry another woman, but God still wanted her to go there and pray for strength. She told me that she went to the couple’s home not knowing how to respond and pray for them since she already knew the end result. So, she kept the message to herself even though she kept going there to pray with them for strength. Eventually, the wife passed away, and the husband ended up remarrying another woman. Things happened exactly the way God told her.

It’s so crazy to me that now, looking back at these years, I now understand why my aunt was just different than the rest of the family. She lived a consecrated life, and though imperfect, she was devoted to God. She was always praying and praising God. Now, I understand that she was called and set apart by God, but I couldn’t understand it back then.

Also, I now realize that all these years, God was intentional about letting me be exposed to His power and His might.  I was completely oblivious to what God was doing in me when He allowed me to witness certain things. The truth is, I couldn’t see God’s kingdom at work unless He opened my eyes.

I am so grateful to be able to share my aunt’s story with you. There was a time, as we were talking, that I asked her to record her testimonies on a tape recorder since social media was not as popular then. I believe God was listening to our conversation because I remember telling her that one day, I would do the recordings myself. Though I don’t get to do the recordings, I am still able to share her testimonies with you, and for that, I am so grateful. God is amazing, and He is in every detail.

I always like to encourage people to pay close attention to what God is exposing you to because it has a lot to do with what He is communicating to you, what He is doing in you, what He’s doing through you, and where He wants to take you.

I hope this testimony helps you on your journey with God. Be blessed!

You are Dearly Loved!
